Senior Care Assistant (Thornaby | Part Time Days | £13.90/hr)

Location: Woodside Grange Care Home, Eltham Crescent, Thornaby
St Martins Care are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to work at their busy Residential Care Home. We are looking for an experienced care professional with an understanding of medication management and CQC compliance, and we are interested in who you are as a person. Location: The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.

Responsibilities
* Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery and that their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
* Supervise staff and ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
* Promote and protect the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

* Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
* Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
* Maintain and develop relationships with residents’ loved ones.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications
* Vocational qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care.
* Level 3 Medication Management.
* Good English (written and verbal).
Skills
* Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance.
* Communication skills to build rapport with residents and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
* Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
* Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan (bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, bathroom).
* Supervise staff providing residents with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks.
* Dispense medication following the service’s policies and procedures.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
