Pro‑Pak Foods is a major supplier of ready meals to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets and convenience stores. Based in Malton, North Yorkshire, the company has a 25‑year history of quality and innovation. Our chefs work closely with customers to produce a menu of over 200 meals.
Location: Malton, North Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00
In this role you will support the Head of SHE in day‑to‑day duties, communicating with directors, senior managers and staff about their obligations under the Health and Safety Act and related legislation. You will promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters for all employees, contractors and visitors. The ideal candidate has a positive work attitude, sound IT literacy, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to develop and implement health and safety performance systems and procedures.
Experience in conducting risk assessments and knowledge of MAC, ART and RAPP is essential. Ideally you already possess a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent and have a working knowledge of UK safety, health and environmental law.
Duties
* Promote awareness of suitable and relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
* Support the company in maintaining a low‑risk, safe working environment.
* Ensure that the company provides safe plant and machinery and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances.
* Conduct (and review) suitable and sufficient risk assessments and lead implementation of the control measures identified by these assessments.
* Manage and review emergency procedures, first aid facilities, safety signs, relevant PPE and equipment.
* Monitor health and safety practices and systems and report on any gaps.
* Complete weekly departmental checks and monthly site audits.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other safety, health and environment related events.
* Consult and communicate any health and safety related matters with employees.
* Support the delivery of health, safety and environmental initiatives on site.
