Head of year 7 (teaching)

Chadderton
Permanent
The Brian Clarke Church of England Academy
Teacher
Posted: 19 January
Offer description

The Brian Clarke Academy is looking to appoint an exceptional individual with the vision, energy, drive and insight to become the school's Head of Year 7. The school opened with a founding team of staff in September 2022 to 240 young people and will continue to grow annually to a student body of 1,200. A Head of Year role in a new school is an opportunity education professionals dream about. You will be leading a talented and committed staff team that is growing a school from Year 7 upwards, supporting the development of its ethos and embedding it into the community of school. We also have the benefit of a brand-new building, with state-of-the-art facilities, and supported by the local, successful, and experienced Cranmer Education Trust. Your role will be to lead, manage and develop the quality of the pastoral provision and management of progress for a year group of 240 pupils, alongside your classroom teaching responsibilities. Exemplary behaviour and a distinctive ethos based on our strongly held values will create a climate for learning, where teachers are supported to deliver exceptional lessons and students flourish. In brief, we are looking for:

Ideal Candidate

* A teacher committed to ambition, excellence, and community, who will work with the Head of Department to drive the growth and development of The Brian Clarke CE Academy.
* An inspiring, informed educator with a clear understanding of what makes outstanding educational provision for all, and the ability, understanding, and experience to lead, develop and manage a staff team to achieve this.
* Someone who will go the extra mile for students, not because they are asked to but because they want to; someone who will do their utmost to ensure all our students progress to the future destinations of their choice.
* Someone who will inspire students and the staff they work with, and build strong relationships with our parents, carers and community partners.

Benefits

* Opportunities for professional development in a growing Trust
* A strong school community that places children, families and staff at the heart of everything we do
* A supportive team who will work with and alongside you to achieve the very best
* Teachers' career average pension scheme with a generous employer contribution
* Central Oldham location, close to good transport networks, less than 7 minutes from nearest bus or tram stops
