Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be proficient in various dental procedures. Duties
* Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized.
* Provide chairside support to ensure patient comfort and safety throughout dental treatments.
* Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
* Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
* Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
* Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
* Participate in patient intake processes, including taking vital signs and conducting preliminary assessments.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
* Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
* Experience in various medical settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities.
* Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical documentation practices.
* Background in critical care transport, emergency medicine, or trauma medicine is preferred.
* Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control measures, and basic life support protocols.
* Experience administering injections, IV insertion, phlebotomy, or specimen collection/processing is advantageous.
* Understanding of patient assessment techniques and vital sign monitoring.
