Family Support Worker | Loughborough, however, this may change in line with the needs of the organisation | Full Time – 37 hours per week | £13.12 per hour
Our client is a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity, with a range of roles available across its services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
In this role, you will provide support for children who are or have been affected by domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.
Are you the right person for the job?
* A recognised qualification in social work, education, youth and community, family work, or other relevant qualification and/or three years' experience working with children and young people in group and one-to-one settings
* An understanding of domestic abuse and sexual violence and their effects
* Experience working with families
* Knowledge of multi-agency working, including Early Help, child protection, and safeguarding procedures
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
* Proficiency in basic IT, email, and internet use
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Initiative and decision-making within organizational boundaries
* Understanding of confidentiality importance
* Ability to build relationships with diverse groups
* Commitment to equal opportunities
* Driving license, insurance, and ability to travel across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland
What will your role look like?
* Providing one-to-one support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse and/or sexual violence
* Delivering group sessions for affected children and young people
* Supporting parents and carers in parenting skills
* Conducting training and awareness sessions with local practitioners
* Delivering healthy relationship sessions in schools and youth settings
* Maintaining accurate client records, including referral data, risk assessments, and support plans
* Upholding confidentiality in all work aspects
* Collaborating with outside agencies and referring to specialists as needed
* Adhering to organizational policies and procedures
* Attending meetings and forums on behalf of LWA
* Contributing to service development discussions
* Performing other duties to support the organization's objectives
