The R6 unit is a dynamic 24-bed neurosurgical/trauma unit with an embedded 9-bed neuro-focused Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). Bean 2 is a fast-paced 12-bed Total Joint Center. This position offers RNs the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a supportive, collaborative environment.
The R6 patient population includes adults and older adolescents with neurological and orthopedic conditions such as head injuries, strokes, brain tumors, seizure disorders, multi-traumas, and neurosurgical needs. RNs in IMC demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills, managing patients with multi-system issues requiring telemetry, intracranial pressure monitoring, medication drips, and higher acuity care.
Bean 2's patient population includes adults post-joint replacement surgeries. This unit is part of our nationally recognized, Joint Commission-accredited joint replacement program. RNs coordinate care milestones to ensure timely, safe discharges, maintaining high patient satisfaction scores.
Working in R6/IMC/B2 involves teamwork, excellent communication, a positive attitude, and a proactive approach. As a teaching unit with frequent student rotations, it welcomes new graduate RNs and learners eager to join a supportive team. Our staff—including Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and CNAs—work closely to meet patient needs and uphold high standards of care.
This is a full-time night shift position, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week.
