This role sits within our consultancy business, specifically in the private sector. You will join our team of UK-wide project managers, delivering various investment types including new store fit-outs, extensions, refurbishments, asset renewals, and initiatives. As a senior project manager, you will have sole responsibility for several projects, reporting to the Mace Account lead. The successful candidate will manage projects within a geographic area, ideally near your home location, with some UK-wide travel expected.
Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us, which are:

You will promote Mace's value of safety first, exhibit visible safety behaviors, share lessons learned, and use safety frameworks to support staff wellbeing.
You will possess technical expertise in local health and safety regulations relevant to your project portfolio.
You will promote diversity, inclusion, and understand the importance of team wellbeing.
You will ensure robust quality systems are in place and managed according to service standards.
You will manage delivery from project inception through design, planning, procurement, and construction, adhering to schedules and milestones.
You will support the project team and ensure timely, accurate project delivery.
Experience of successfully delivering multiple fit-out projects on schedule and within budget is essential.
You should have strong communication skills to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
You should quickly understand client processes and adapt to their governance requirements.
You will develop project plans for clients without their own standards and seek continuous improvement in project delivery.
Demonstrate understanding of project economics, including scope changes and financial implications.
Act as liaison with third-party contractual entities.
Flexibility and willingness to travel and stay away from home are required.
Integrity - Always do the right thing:
You will manage project budgets, identify risks, and support long-term business development.
You will uphold positive impacts for people, clients, and the planet, holding others accountable to Mace's values.
Create opportunity - For our people to excel:
You will lead and manage design and consultancy teams collaboratively to meet project KPIs.
You will network, innovate, and utilize Mace's resources and knowledge hubs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience in a similar role within the food retail and distribution sector is desirable.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and commercial awareness.
Knowledge of H&S and CDM standards and regulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a team player.
Proactive with effective project planning and decision-making skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Additional Requirements:
Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent professional body.
