The Transport team provides transport planning expertise to unlock the full potential of clients' sites. They help clients to achieve planning permissions for a wide range of developments across the UK, from converting a two-storey house into two luxury apartments to a 20,000-home garden village, a town centre regeneration or a new business park and everything in between.

Working in this role will provide you with the opportunity to become involved in a variety of schemes, ensuring you have exposure to a range of project types and requirements. You will be joining a commercially-driven team who is expanding yet provide excellent levels of support for your ongoing development.

About The Role

This is a full-time role for an Assistant or Graduate Transport Planner located in London, with the opportunity for some remote work. The role will involve daily tasks supporting senior staff with input across a variety of projects.

Key responsibilities are likely to include:
- Undertaking and completing delegated tasks as assigned by project team members to a good professional standard within required timescales.
- Assist in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and other application submission reports.
- Prepare Travel Plans and Travel Packs, alongside developing ideas for sustainable travel initiatives to be implemented in new developments.
- Collect and analyse project specific data, including traffic counts and public transport usage.
- Provide day-to-day technical input to the team, including assistance with design work (CAD/ swept path analysis) as and when required.
- Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines within the company both to deliver project requirements but also broaden overall knowledge of the Planning industry.
- Liaison with wider project team and corresponding with planning and highway officers, including attending meetings / workshops and providing support to project leads.

About You

You should:
- Preferably have some previous experience within a Transport Planning role.
- Hold a keen interest in transport planning topics, including active travel, healthy streets, placemaking, spatial planning, junction improvement / mitigation, transport policy/strategy, transport modelling/appraisal etc.
- Have knowledge of the planning system and its processes, including relevant planning policies and how they relate to the transport planning industry (e.g. NPPF, the London Plan etc).
- Be able to work in a flexible manner in order to provide support to colleagues as workload dictates, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure work is delivered correctly, accurately and on time which, on occasion, could include working outside of normal office hours.
- Demonstrate good Microsoft Office skills in programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Have the confidence and ability to communicate and engage effectively with both internal colleagues and external colleagues / stakeholders etc, both verbally and in writing.
- Have an understanding of key technical programs including AutoCAD, TEMPRO, Junctions 9, TRICS, GIS, Census Data.
