The job holder will be responsible for managing the administrative processes within the Offender Management Hub, including court procedures, ensuring that prisoners received into custody are managed through their sentence and released from custody correctly in line with the National Reducing Reoffending Strategy.
Responsibilities, Activities and Duties
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
* Manage the transactional activity associated with the Offender Management function and the administrative staff within this area.
* Ensure paperwork is complete, checked and ready for onward transmission, including:
o Discharge Report / Pre-Discharge Report
o Re-categorisation process and Boards
o Bail applications
o Completes management checks of Violent Sex Offender Register (VISOR)
o Release on Temporary License (ROTL)
o Home Detention Curfew (HDC)
o Public Protection
o Offender Assessment and Sentence Management (OaSys)
o Multi-agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA)
o Sentence calculations
o Observation Classification Allocation (OCA)
o Prisoners allocation and transfers
o Appeals
o Adjudications
o Indeterminate Sentence prisoners
o Parole applications
o Legal Correspondence
o License Applications
o Resettlement overnight release
o Prisoner Fines
o Foreign Nationals/Deportation/Immigration
o Risk to Children/Safeguarding Children
o Harassment/Restraining Orders

* Undertake other administrative management tasks, including:
o Contribute toward the development of local policy, procedures and practice
o Manage devolved budgets in accordance with financial procedures
o Manage the achievement of Service Delivery Indicators (SDIs) and standards within the work area
o Attend relevant unit meetings to provide feedback on good practice examples
o Analyse and act on data collected by the Hub and produce relevant reports
o Ensure data entered into local and national systems is accurate and in accordance with agreed timescales
o Monitor performance of the Hub
o Draft all external and internal communications on behalf of the Hub
o Provide Head of Function with management information relating to the relevant area
o Be responsible for the management of all staff within their area, including staff performance, development and annual appraisal
o Act as first point of contact for relevant external stakeholders
o Act as requisitioner or approver dependant on local policy

Essential Experience
Able user of MS Word and MS Excel, with experience in information collation and analysis.

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid.
