Responsibilities
The Operations Control Centre in Group Infrastructure and Operations (GIO) is recruiting an Incident Manager. You will be one of a team of Incident Managers who will have overall responsibility for identifying and managing a Major IT Incident (MI). The main aim is to restore normal service operation as quickly as possible and minimise any adverse effect on business operations. Defra and the Environment Agency have a user base of approximately 26,000 users. When a Major IT Incident is declared, it is important that service is restored as quickly as possible. You will help ensure that key services for Defra users and the general public are available.
The Incident Manager forms part of the Service Design and Transition teams, when new services are introduced into the live environment. This ensures that all Incident Management queries are addressed at design and implementation level.
Please note that there is an out of hours rota associated with this role.
