Tesco Shift Leader - Days - Buckingham Superstore, Buckingham, England, United Kingdom
Join Tesco as a Shift Leader with a starting pay of £14.76 per hour, rising to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. Tesco offers a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work down to 12 hours if desired.
Availability windows are outlined by the week; contracted hours are scheduled with 3 weeks notice. We support flexible working where possible.
Eligibility: You must be 18 or over to apply for this role.

Responsibilities
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
* Take ownership of running duty shifts and coordinate the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store
* Be available to assist customers and ensure they leave with what they came for
* Coach colleagues, provide feedback, and look for ways to improve service
* Guide and support colleagues to maintain a safe store and shopping environment
* Understand store performance and assist managers in delivering actions to improve operations
* Lead from the front and set a positive example for the team
Role Details
* Availability window examples: Mon/Thu/Fri/Sat from 15:30 to 00:30
* Position involves opening/closing the store and duty coverage with safety as a priority
You will be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience
* Supporting colleagues to deliver daily priorities and breaks
* Opening/closing the store and handling duty cover with safety in mind
* Being the go-to person in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
* Keeping the store clean, tidy, and well-presented
* Supporting managers with seasonal, community, and charity events
* Contributing to a positive, inclusive team atmosphere
* Providing excellent customer service by listening to customers
* Keeping the team informed on communications, changes, or updates
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and seeking improvements
* Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to great service
* Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same
* Recognising and celebrating colleagues providing great service
