Public Affairs – Account Executive to Account Manager (depending on experience)
Lansons’ Public Affairs team is looking to recruit a new team member at Account Executive, Senior Account Executive or Account Manager level, depending on experience.
This is an opportunity to join an award-winning communications and reputation management firm with expertise spanning political, regulatory and corporate communications. Candidates may have built that experience in a consultancy environment, in Westminster or in‑house policy or external affairs role. The level of appointment will depend on the depth of that experience, the quality of judgement shown, and readiness to manage client work with the appropriate degree of independence.
What you’ll do
* Support the day‑to‑day delivery of public affairs and communications programmes across a range of clients.
* Help manage account activity, timelines and actions, working closely with colleagues and clients to keep programmes moving.
* Deliver political, parliamentary, regulatory and media monitoring, and turn developments into clear, useful analysis for clients.
* Draft high‑quality written materials, including briefings, stakeholder maps, meeting notes, consultation responses, lines, presentations and campaign materials.
* Support and, depending on level, help lead stakeholder engagement activity, including events, parliamentary engagement and external meetings.
* Contribute ideas to campaigns, policy positioning and new business activity.
* Build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
* Develop your network across politics, policy, media and industry, with support from senior colleagues.
What we’re looking for
Strong candidates are likely to bring some combination of the following:
* Experience in an agency, political, public affairs, policy, government, communications or related environment.
* For Account Executive level, this would include some prior relevant experience for the role; for Senior Account Executive or Account Manager level, more substantial experience managing workstreams, accounts or stakeholder engagement independently.
* A strong interest in politics, public policy and how public decision‑making affects organisations, sectors and society.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
* A proactive, curious and solutions‑focused mindset.
* A collaborative approach and enjoyment of working as part of a team.
* Confidence using digital tools, with an interest in how AI and new technologies can support research, monitoring and analysis.
