The Opportunity
As a Senior Field Service Engineer at Hitachi, Ltd., you will be a critical point of contact for our customers, providing expert technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for complex Hitachi systems and equipment in the field. You will ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction through your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
How You'll make an impact
1. Perform complex installations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Hitachi's advanced industrial, medical, or IT systems (depending on specific business unit focus) at customer sites.
2. Diagnose and resolve intricate hardware and software issues, leveraging diagnostic tools, technical documentation, and your deep product knowledge.
3. Provide comprehensive technical support and training to customers on product operation, maintenance, and best practices.
4. Lead and mentor junior field service engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
5. Manage service calls and schedules efficiently, ensuring timely response and resolution to customer issues.
6. Document all service activities, including detailed reports of work performed, parts used, and problem resolutions, using designated service management systems.
7. Collaborate closely with internal engineering, sales, and support teams to address customer feedback and improve product reliability and service delivery.
8. Adhere to all company safety protocols, quality standards, and customer site regulations.
9. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional demeanor, clear communication, and effective problem-solving.
10. Identify opportunities for service contract renewals, upgrades, or additional Hitachi products and services.
11. Participate in on-call rotations and be available for travel to various customer locations as required.

Your Background
15. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
16. Proven years of progressive experience in field service engineering, specifically supporting complex industrial, medical, or IT hardware and software syst
17. Extensive expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex electromechanical systems, high-precision equipment, or networked IT infrastructure.
18. Strong understanding of diagnostic tools, test equipment, and software applications relevant to Hitachi's product lines.
19. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
20. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
21. Ability to travel frequently, potentially including overnight stays, to customer locations.
22. Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various industrial or clinical environments.
23. Prior experience with Hitachi products or similar complex systems is highly desirable.
