To undertake legal work relating to all areas of housing such as litigious matters including property, leasehold and enfranchisement, Anti‑Social Behaviour, disrepair, repairs and maintenance, possessions, homelessness, the allocation and letting of homes, bankruptcy, and general civil matters surrounding all relevant legislative and code of guidance issues, including housing Acts, landlord and tenant Law and other miscellaneous civil claims relating to Housing, To provide legal advice to the Housing Service on the following:
Key Responsibilities
* Landlord and tenant law
* Statutory duty of care
* Homelessness
* The acquisition and disposal of property and the development of housing policy and process
* Advice in respect to specific letters, disputes or other matters
* Detailed advice on complex cases including possible attendance at court
* Advice on leaseholder agreements, consultation and sale covenants
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Housing Legal Practice. Experience of providing guidance and support to colleagues and housing legal team to enable effective decision making. Demonstrates a responsive and effective customer focused approach. An excellent track record of building internal and external relationships which deliver. A thorough knowledge of Housing Law and corporate property. Experience and good knowledge of Local Government Structures and Practices.
