The role: Facilities Technician
The Facilities Technician supports the Technical Supervisor by delivering reactive and planned maintenance, including building fabric, grounds, housekeeping, engineering services, and waste management, following safety procedures.
This role acts as a key customer contact, ensuring maintenance standards are met and engaging with on-site customers to comply with waste policies.
Key responsibilities:
* Ensure a positive workplace experience in a multi-customer environment.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and security, control costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
* Build effective relationships within the customer organization.
* Follow health and safety policies, ensuring safe working practices.
* Ensure compliance with all processes, statutory requirements, and engineering standards.
* Provide planned and reactive maintenance, updating customers proactively.
* Perform general building fabric repairs and grounds maintenance, including litter picking, grass cutting, pruning, weed removal, and clearing drains.
* Support building uplift and refit projects with specialist colleagues.
* Report risks, losses, or defects for corrective action.
* Maintain site activity logs and manage stock, tools, and equipment.
* Support other duties as directed by the Workplace Experience Manager.
Person Specification:
* Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements.
* Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude to customer service.
* Ability to challenge and improve existing practices.
* Proven experience in a similar role or willingness to learn new skills.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written.
* Knowledge of manual handling, legionella, PASMA, IPAF, asbestos awareness, and roof work safety procedures.
