Carbon60 is seeking skilled and experienced Aircraft Mechanical Fitters to join their dynamic client based in Shropshire. As an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the movement, line and base maintenance of the company’s UK MFTS (Rotary Wing) H135/H145 fleet.
This is a 6‑month contract that is likely to be extended. Due to the nature of our client you will need to be able to obtain SC clearance, and you will also need a driving licence.
£28.16 ph (Umbrella) or £21.05 ph (Payer).
Responsibilities
* Provide engineering operational support to flight operations.
* Accomplish maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the nominated shift supervisor or certifying engineer.
* Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
* Complete maintenance – including airframe structure, power‑plant, mechanical and electrical systems – in accordance with written instructions.
* Conduct off‑aircraft mechanical, power‑plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required.
* Assist in the day‑to‑day running of the aircraft hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance or a related discipline (essential).
* Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems (essential).
* Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems (essential).
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of flight/airport operations, aircraft line maintenance and aircraft base maintenance (essential).
* Experience in base maintenance and flight/line maintenance (essential).
* Knowledge of UK military aviation and UK MFTS (desirable).
* Experience in military aviation (desirable).
