Job Description

* Be overall responsible for customer project's technical requirements.
* Accomplish related results as needed.
* Support and guide Project Sales Engineers to always apply the most economical solution fulfilling the technical requirements by considering previously applied solutions or new developments, consulting and taking input from relevant departments where necessary.
* Guide technical proposal including necessary documents in line with internal guidelines and policies.
* Support and guide Project Sales Engineers in preparing and supplying appropriate supporting evidence of technical compliance to customer specification and internal requirements where required.
* Supervise and assist technical Clause by Clause (CbC) within the regulations.
* Visit customers in co-ordination with Sales Responsible or Project Sales engineer where necessary and discuss/present products/system and technical solutions.
* Support internal departments (e.g. RAMS, Manuals, Design, etc.) with necessary technical information, guidance and support.
* When order received secure Sales & Project Engineers prepare the project for A10 project handover.

Follow the established AI0303 and AI0403 processes and propose improvements for faster and simplified work and decision making. 1

* Secure growth and order intake with good margins and low risk.
* Assist Project Sales Engineers in approving Pre-Calculation with the product structure.
* Supervise Project Sales Engineers that in Pre-Calculation ensuring its in line with business guidelines .
* Be informed about customer activities and about the railway business and inform the Sales Responsible about coming opportunities.

Develop long-term relationships with customers through managing and interpreting their requirement.

Build and maintain good relations with the decision-making engineers and buyers at the customers.

Consider enlarging GW market share by cooperating with third parties on their development.

Communicate any information regarding competitors’ products and patents gathered during communications Project sales engineers, end users and consultants to the IP team and within the organization.

Perform own leadership and cooperation by supporting, informing and improving.

* Comply with government and company regulations and policies. 1 Inform your colleagues about success, status and risk.
* Support colleagues with ideas and solutions whenever appropriate.
* Mentorship & Expertise Act as a technical/project mentor and support during the complete project phase from technical concept in offer phase to First Article Inspection (FAI), continue to support Customer Service through product lifespan.
* Provide expertise and return of experience cross functionally within the company. Give input and suggest improvements to Return of Experience methodology.
* Secure that instructions, guidelines, etc. within area of responsibility is available and up to date.
* Secure that adequate training and seminars within area of responsibility is provided to the different parts of the organization.
* Secure technical bid no bid decision Overview, validate and approve the Sales requirements for the customer projects in the bid phase according to AI0303.
* Assure that the most economical solution is proposed, fulfilling the technical requirements by considering modules, previously applied solutions or new developments.
* Ensure all necessary functions within the company are consulted when needed before the decision is taken.
* Study customer requirements, research manufacturing/assembly methods and materials, propose product improvements (SQDC).
* Product and system improvements Initiate and monitor pre-studies and business cases for product and system developments or improvements for the product portfolio.
* 1 Support the IP team as necessary to determine if existing and /or pending competitor patents are a threat to the companies interests.
* Define validation packages and records consistent to customer needs (product and systems).
* Help improve process for creation of validation records.

QUALIFICATIONS · Formal Education (base for recruitment) § MSc degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical. ·

Work related experience (internal or external as base for recruitment) § 5+ years relevant work experience plus additional 3+ years rail experience. ·

Job specific competencies (Hard skills/technical knowledge and Soft skills/personality) Proven and well-developed technical understanding regarding rail products.

Fully understands and anticipates customer needs, developing new and innovative options to meet changing requirements.

Experience of leading team activities to develop and secure the effectiveness of the team.

Fluent in spoken and written English, local language may be required depending on market.

Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities within project management with the ability to plan, execute lead and motivate designated resources to ensure completion within prescribed deadline, budget and cost constraints, SQDC and RAJT

Time management: Intense time management skills and capability to complete project planning and execution of tasks on time and ensure that projects are on target and meet prescribed deadlines.

Communication: Be an active listener with strong negotiation and communication skills to ensure that all stakeholders understand the project scope, plans and tasks.

Have the skills to lead by distance, take and give feedback to clarify understanding of project scope or take corrective action if needed.

Prioritizing: A self starter with the ability to prioritize own tasks as well as having the ability to advise and prioritize others’ tasks within a project sequentially to ensure handover, milestones and delivery of the project.

Business and customer understanding: High business, technical and commercial understanding.

A customer orientated problem solver with the ability to find solutions and overcome problems that may impact the delivery of the project and business objectives.
