We are looking for a talented Transport Operations Manager to join us in Erith on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday on shifts between 08:00 and 18:00. The Role As Transport Operations Manager, you will lead the daily delivery of transport functions across multiple contracts at our Erith site, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. You will oversee drivers and the traffic office team, organising vehicles and personnel to achieve SLA targets and deliver high levels of service. This will include monitoring KPIs, tracking expenditure and purchase orders, and ensuring daily deliveries run efficiently. Alongside operational oversight, you will drive team performance through clear delegation, regular departmental meetings and active staff engagement, managing performance reviews and providing ongoing training to support continuous improvement. Additionally, you will: - Monitor subcontractor costs, repairs and overtime expenditure - Investigate customer concerns and implement corrective actions - Support HR, Health, Safety and Environmental activities - Ensure compliance with 5S principles, working time directives and vehicle regulations - Investigate road traffic collisions and operational incidents About You To be considered as a Transport Operations Manager, you will need: - Previous transport management experience running a medium-sized distribution network - Experience leading and motivating teams - Experience using TMS and Tachomaster systems - Strong organisational skills and attention to detail - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages - The ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively - A National or International CPC Qualification The closing date for this role is the 13th March 2026.
