This hands-on role involves building and wiring new prototype units currently in development, working from engineering drawings and schematics. The successful candidate will work on small to medium-sized enclosures and mechanical assemblies, ensuring all prototypes are built to high standards of safety and quality.
Build and wire prototype units in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
Carry out point-to-point wiring, soldering, crimping, looming, and cable termination.
Perform mechanical fitting tasks, including marking out, drilling, and tapping.
Interpret and work from engineering wiring diagrams, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Proven experience in prototype wiring or assembly within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings and schematics.
Confident using mechanical hand tools and power tools.
Experience in point-to-point wiring, soldering, crimping, and cable termination.
Previous experience in sectors such as aerospace, defence, or automotive (advantageous).
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a flexible, practical approach.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English to a good standard.
