Wood require a Commercial Assistant on a permanent basis, located at our clients site based in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

At a high level, the job objectives are, under supervision;
1. Maximise commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre and post-contract)
2. Commercialisation of a sub-Business Groups service offerings to support business growth and strategy
3. Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
4. Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
5. Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group / Project / Portfolio of Projects
6. Supporting the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group
7. Promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviors
8. Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity
9. Champion and promote the application of the Financial Management Framework guidelines
10. Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies
Assists and supports under supervision:
11. Pre-award activities including support to the tender governance process, proposals team in terms of performing a commercial review of tender documents, reviewing commercial proposals prior to submission for internal approval, preparing commercial qualifications and pricing notes, coordinating commercial and contractual qualifications,
12. The timely submission of contracting policy approval requests, in conjunction with the Contracts function
13. Main contract administration, including correspondence management, management of change and the development/implementation of commercial strategies and profit improvement plans in accordance with client contract(s) and Wood’s policies and procedures.
14. Ensuring that contracts are set up correctly in the appropriate business system
15. Ensuring that invoices are prepared in a timely and accurate manner and include full contract entitlement,
16. The administrative development and maintenance of Commercial Handovers and Plans
17. The development of rates, estimates, pricing, and commercial models
18. The administration of risk management processes
19. The management and administration of Bonds / LoCs, Collateral warranties and PCGs
20. The coordination of contract reviews and the development of qualifications/redlines in conjunction with the Contracts function
21. The preparation of project cashflow forecasts, expenditure, invoice preparation, and expediting of payments
22. Information/data gathering and analysis required to support Woods assertive claims and/or defending claims against Wood
23. The preparation of key contract and internal project reporting requirements
Qualifications:
• 3 A Levels (or equivalent) in relevant subjects. Maths, Law, Business Studies
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
• Working knowledge and experience in Commercial administration and procedures.
