Application Specialist – Corporate Applications


Duration: Long-term

Workload: Full time hours

Setup: Freelance (Daily rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)

Location: Aberdeen (UK)


We need an experienced Business Analyst / Application Specialist to support change, optimisation, and service ownership across a portfolio of enterprise corporate applications.


Key Responsibilities:

* Lead discovery and business analysis across finance, procurement, and corporate functions
* Translate business requirements into functional designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
* Manage application change through delivery, UAT, release, and hypercare
* Act as the functional SME and escalation point for assigned applications
* Govern vendors and AMS providers, including backlog prioritisation and delivery assurance
* Support integrations across APIs, middleware, batch and file‑based interfaces
* Ensure controls, compliance, and audit readiness (SoD, JML, GDPR)
* Maintain documentation, runbooks, and BAU handover standards


Must‑Have Skills:

* Strong experience as a Business Analyst, Application Specialist, or Applications SME
* Hands‑on delivery of enterprise application enhancements and integrations
* Knowledge of ERP, finance, procurement, or document management systems
* Experience working with AMS providers and third‑party vendors
* Solid understanding of integrations, data quality, and non‑functional requirements
* Familiarity with ITIL service models and structured delivery governance


Nice‑to‑Have:

* Agile/Scrum or PRINCE2 experience
* Background in regulated or audit‑heavy environments
