Barking & Dagenham College are recruiting for a Curriculum Manager for Health, Social Care & Science to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.
The salary scale for this role is £52,566 - £54,052 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.
The CM HSC Role;
Reporting to the Head of Department, the Curriculum Manager will be responsible for the operational leadership and management of a designated curriculum area(s).
We are looking for a passionate Health & Social Care Curriculum Manager to join the high achieving department.
The ideal candidate will be able to have a flexible, proactive and problem solving style with outstanding management skills. A key requirement of the role will be the ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of teachers and support staff.
Working closely with the Head of Department, the Curriculum Manager will develop the curriculum intent to reflect sector and industry changes as well as local, national and global reforms.
Key responsibilities of the CM HSC;
* Lead the development of a responsive and relevant curriculum offer through effective leadership of the curriculum team(s).
* Carry out staff timetabling, local resource planning and budget management for designated curriculum teams, with particular reference to the operational management of physical and human resources.
* Undertake lesson observations of colleagues in own and other curriculum teams, and act as a mentor to curriculum team leaders.
* Develop and embed internal quality assurance (IQA) and improvement systems consistent with overall College quality practice and be able to use data analytically to demonstrate improvement in performance.
* Line manage designated curriculum colleagues and implement relevant college policies and procedures e.g. local induction, probation, disciplinary, risk assessment, absence management, equality of opportunity, health and safety etc. Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that accurate, complete and up to date data are uploaded into college information systems and databases.
* The Curriculum Manager role carries a teaching commitment of 10 hours per week.
Our ideal CM HSC should have the following qualifications, skills and experience;
* Hold a teaching qualification and have experience of teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors.
* Appropriate Level 6 subject specialism.
* An understanding of awarding body internal verification and external verification requirements.
* Ability to interpret complex documentation and provide appropriate feedback.
* Demonstrable experience of leading teams and individuals including staff development and mentoring.
* Experience of managing and planning resources.
* Experience of developing and delivering successful teaching and learning strategies that promote inclusive learning and engage learners.
