As Scheme Coordinator, you are responsible for the day-to-day running of the scheme, including leadership of staff, oversight of client support, and ensuring the scheme operates safely and in line with policies.

Alongside these responsibilities, you will maintain a reduced caseload, delivering high-quality, person-centred support to residents. This combined role ensures both effective scheme management and direct contribution to positive client outcomes.

You will also monitor repairs, complete safety checks, and report weekly to the Service Manager.


Key Responsibilities


Staff Management

* Managing staff absence and ensuring adequate staffing cover
* Addressing performance, conduct, and wellbeing
* Ensuring all staff follow policies and procedures
* Providing supervision, guidance, and support


Service Delivery

* Manage your own reduced caseload of clients and provide structured, person-centred support
* Regularly monitor staff support plans
* Ensure all clients receive person-centred support
* Monitoring and ensuring fortnightly support sessions are completed
* Overseeing quality of support delivery and documentation across the service
* Promote independence, life skills, and positive outcomes for residents


Case Work & Resident Support

* Complete accurate case notes, reports, risk assessments, and support plans
* Support residents to access external services (healthcare, housing, employment, benefits, etc.)
* Maintain clear and professional records in line with organisational policies
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies
* Manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
* Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times


Health & Safety

Monitor completion and recording of safety checks, including:

* Weekly fire alarm checks
* Monthly water temperature checks
* Emergency lighting checks


Additional Responsibilities

* Overseeing and participating in scheme tasks
* Maintaining a safe environment for staff and clients
* Reporting and responding to incidents
* Monitor and report all repair and maintenance issues
* Liaise with contractors and services to ensure work is completed appropriately
* Ensure accurate records of repairs and actions taken are logged by staff
* Escalate unresolved or high-risk maintenance issues


Compliance

* Ensuring any arising issues are reported to Compliance & Remedials Lead
* Making sure staff follow safeguarding and organisational procedures


Reporting

* Prepare a weekly report to Service Manager summarising:
o Staffing updates and concerns
o Health & safety issues
o Repairs and maintenance updates
o Client-related updates and risks
* Maintain accurate records and logs for audits and inspections


Decision-Making Authority

* Expected to make decisions independently within policy & procedure regarding the day-to-day running of the scheme
* If assistance or advice is required, staff should approach the Service Manager first, except in cases where a different contact has been designated for specific issues
* Senior management should only be contacted if the Service Manager is unavailable or if the matter is not being addressed appropriately


Requirements

* Education: Minimum of A-Level standard (or equivalent) or higher
* Strong ability to write clear, accurate reports and documentation
* Good level of numeracy
* Excellent communication and people skills
* Ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritise workload
* IT literacy
* Understanding of homelessness, safeguarding, and support work
