Overview
Manage a baby room in a high‑quality nursery, ensuring a stimulating, safe environment for children 3 months – 5 years. Lead staff, support child development, and partner with parents.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all areas of the EYFS and Statutory Framework are met at all times.
* Understand and implement Safeguarding/Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
* Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children, taking individual needs into consideration.
* Reflect on daily practice and identify areas for continuous improvement.
* Manage settling‑in and transitions for all children, communicating effectively to parents, carers and colleagues.
* Promote effective partnerships with parents.
* Act as the key person for a designated group of children.
* Ensure the team is clear on expectations, goals and responsibilities of their role.
* Motivate and develop the staff team, modelling engagement and initiating ideas to maintain staff commitment.
* Mentor and conduct effective staff induction and supervision in line with company policy.
* Identify training needs and support practitioners to up‑skill.
* Effectively manage staff conduct and performance.
Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum Level 3 professional childcare qualification.
* Experience of managing a room.
* Experience working with children 3 months – 5 years.
* Experience partnering with parents, handling difficult situations sensitively and professionally.
* Working knowledge of health and safety, risk assessment and action to reduce potential accidents/injury.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of Child Protection Procedures.
* Detailed understanding of the EYFS and Statutory Framework.
* In line with the Statutory Framework, all staff must have sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well‑being of children.
Pay Range
£28,496 - £29,442 / year
