Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Purpose of job:
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting the operation and maintenance of systems within a Southern territory, ensuring high standards of technical service and customer satisfaction. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strong organizational and project management skills, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, system installations, and troubleshooting across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The position requires providing technical demonstrations, application support, and risk assessments while maintaining accurate records and managing equipment and spare parts. By representing the company professionally and efficiently managing their territory, the Field Service Engineer contributes to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and the achievement of regional business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Management of a Southern territory; maintaining systems by organised program and call outs
Promote the companys products and brands
Organise preventative maintenance programme of all the company systems on a regional basis
Implement effective and efficient time management across the region to meet goals of the company
Ability to demonstrate correct use of all systems and suggest preventative maintenance to customers
Project manage and implementation of Working Comfort solutions
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
Provide demonstration and application support to the customers and other team members
Conduct Risk Assessments and Method Statements for customer installations
Keep accurate records of machine services, movements and ensure timely receipt by the office
To perform all assignments in a determined fashion aligned by the needs of the business
Test and Commission systems prior to installation
Organise all stocks of machines and spare parts, and ensure adequate levels carried on vehicle
Skills & Competences:
At least 5 years experience in field based engineering
Ideally HNC/HND in electrical engineering or equivalent, or apprentice trained
Strong technical skills and understanding of mechanical/pneumatic and electrical systems (single and 3-phase)
Able to prioritise and handle multiple tasks, detailed orientated and able to analyse and solve problem issues
Able to handle all situations with discretion and sensitivity to any customer needs
Conversant with Microsoft Office
Willingness to travel in UK and occasionally Europe with occasional overnight stays
