Part-Time Governance & Prescribing Doctor

Self Medical Aesthetics is moving towards becoming a CQC-registered clinic in Sunderland, specialising in advanced aesthetic treatments, regenerative skin therapies, and wellness services. Our focus is on delivering safe, evidence-based and personalised treatment plans that support long-term skin health and overall wellbeing. Role Description
We are seeking a part-time Medical Doctor to provide light-touch support in clinical governance, CQC compliance, and prescribing, contributing approximately 2–4 hours per month. This role is ideal for a doctor with an interest in aesthetic medicine who would like to support a growing clinic in maintaining exceptional standards of safety, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
This is an on-site or hybrid self-employed position with flexible monthly hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide senior medical oversight to support CQC compliance and ongoing governance
* Review and update clinical policies, protocols, and audits
* Offer prescribing support where appropriate
* Support with complication management and escalation pathways
* Contribute to clinical supervision and professional development of practitioners
* Attend occasional governance meetings to ensure medical standards remain robust
Qualifications
* GMC-registered medical doctor
* Experience in general practice, emergency medicine, dermatology, or aesthetic medicine (desirable but not essential)
* Strong understanding of clinical governance and patient safety frameworks
* Excellent communication, professionalism, and decision-making skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with aesthetic practitioners
* Commitment to safe, ethical medical aesthetics
