Head of Department – Media Studies

Salary: MPR or UPR & TLR 2.1*

Job start: 10th November 2025 or 5th January 2026

Contract type: Permanent, Part-time (3 days) or Full Time with second subject.

* Possibility of 1-year R&R to aid moving to the area for the right candidate

Woking High School is a high achieving school with Academy status. We have an outstanding team of staff who are all committed to developing our students as individuals. This is an opportunity for an excellent practitioner who is innovative and committed to raising the attainment of our learners. The focus of the post will be to lead developments within the Media Department.

The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified teacher or leader who is:

1. A passionate practitioner who believes that education empowers not just the students, but staff.
2. An excellent practitioner with an outstanding record of success.
3. Able to lead the development of good practice.
4. Knowledgeable about Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
5. Committed to raising performance through rigorous monitoring and review.
6. An aspiring senior school leader.
