Rate of Pay: £21.86 - £28.84 per hour
Summary:
The role supports the Coroners Service in investigating sudden, unexplained, violent, or unnatural deaths. You will manage coronial cases from referral to conclusion, liaise with bereaved families and partner agencies, and assist with the preparation and administration of inquests to ensure investigations are conducted professionally and in accordance with legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Manage coronial investigations from initial referral through to case conclusion.
* Conduct enquiries into the circumstances of death and gather relevant medical, police, and factual information.
* Request and review medical records, witness statements, and investigative reports.
* Liaise with bereaved families, providing guidance and updates throughout the investigation process.
* Arrange post-mortem examinations and work with pathologists, police, and other agencies.
Essentials:
* Experience in a coronial, legal, court, investigative, or statutory environment.
* Ability to work professionally and sensitively with bereaved families.
* Strong case management and organisational skills with the ability to manage complex investigations.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple partner agencies.
* Ability to work under pressure in sensitive and challenging situations.
