We're building a space for sports writing that values depth, clarity, and perspective, and we're looking for contributors who share that vision.
Service Break is now open to submissions for our first print issue.
Service Break welcomes pitches from writers with a strong sense of story and a thoughtful approach to sport. We're especially interested in:
* Reporting and features on local or underrepresented sporting communities
* Essays that explore the cultural, political, or personal dimensions of sport
* Interviews, profiles, or match-day reflections with a fresh angle
* Visually driven pieces in collaboration with photographers
You don't need to have a long list of bylines, but we're looking for voices that are curious, informed, and respectful of the craft.
If you'd like to pitch, please send us a short email outlining your idea, any relevant links or clips, and a few lines about who you are. We also welcome introductions from photographers, designers, and editors who'd like to collaborate.
This is an ongoing call. We review submissions on a rolling basis. Please note that all submissions are on a volunteer/unpaid basis.
