We are working with a welcoming, inclusive specialist school in Preston seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils who need encouragement, stability, and guidance to thrive in their learning and development.
Experience as a Teaching Assistant within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities.
2. Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
3. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.
Requirements:
4. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant with students who have additional needs is advantageous.
5. Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
6. Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
7. Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
8. Hold Right to Work in the UK
9. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
10. Provide two professional, child related references covering the last two years.
