Essential Group is looking for a hands-on Digital Marketing Manager to support and implement digital activity across our portfolio of B2C and B2B clients. This is an execution-focused role. We are looking for someone who can physically make changes, optimise performance and improve results - not just recommend them.
You will work across websites, SEO, paid media and tracking, ensuring that campaigns are implemented properly, performance issues are identified early and improvements are continuously made.
You should be confident logging into platforms, diagnosing problems and fixing them independently.
Key Responsibilities
Website & Technical Optimisation
Implement website updates within Shopify and WordPress
Improve page speed, UX and on-page SEO
Add and optimise meta data, schema and internal linking
Identify and implement conversion rate improvements
Liaise with developers where more complex technical fixes are required
Ensure tracking is correctly installed and functioning
Paid Media Support & Optimisation
Manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Performance Max)
Set up and manage paid social campaigns, across Meta and LinkedIn
Implement changes based on performance data
Improve Quality Scores and landing page relevance
Test new audiences, creatives and bidding strategies
Monitor ROI and make adjustments accordingly
Tracking & Analytics
Ensure GA4 and conversion tracking are correctly configured
Implement tracking via Google Tag Manager where required
Troubleshoot tracking discrepancies
Monitor performance data and flag issues early
Support clear, structured reporting
Continuous Improvement
Proactively identify performance gaps
Suggest and implement improvements
Maintain best practice across all platforms
Ensure retained clients receive ongoing optimisation, not just maintenance
Who We're Looking For
Minimum 4-5 years' experience in digital marketing
Strong working knowledge of Shopify and WordPress
Hands-on experience with SEO implementation
Confident managing Google Ads accounts
Solid understanding of GA4 and conversion tracking
Comfortable working independently
Highly organised and detail-oriented
A problem-solver who takes ownership
