Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in a restaurant or food production environment. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating exceptional dishes that delight our guests while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your skills will be essential in the kitchen staff and maintaining an efficient kitchen operation. We are a family friendly Restaurant specialising in pizza (but offer a wide range of food for other palates, such as Burgers, full English, Gyros, fish and Chips) located in a busy coastal resort with lots of caravan sites in the nearby area.
We like to serve our food at a high standard as well as having a very high standard in our Food and Hygiene rating obtaining two 5* inspections since opening.
Duties
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards.
* Provide guidance and support to ensure smooth operations at each station when needed.
* Oversee your section of food preparation, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations, ensuring cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen at all times.
* Collaborate with other team members to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, noting orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock, reporting any issues to supervisor.
* Assist when required in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen operations.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or food production setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented atmosphere.
