Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Systems Engineer to join a new department focused on developing Synthetics, Digital Products, and Services that will transform our UK division's operations.
As the Synthetics Design Lead, the successful candidate will take a leadership role in establishing this department, creating detailed designs and operational plans for Synthetics capabilities across the Electronics Division in the UK, and influencing Synthetics designs across other UK Divisions.
The Synthetics Design Lead will leverage their expertise in synthetics systems, processes, methodologies, and tools to rapidly develop this capability.
What you will do
* Lead the design of Synthetics capabilities for the Electronics Division in the UK.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the Electronics Division to understand design implications and facilitate implementation.
* Coordinate with other Digital Products and Services Systems Leads to develop capabilities and prepare for future products, reporting to the Chief Systems Engineer.
* Support building relationships with synthetics providers and assess potential partners.
* Lead design reviews and ensure mature, robust designs.
What we are looking for
* Extensive experience with tools, methodologies, and processes in the synthetics domain.
* Proven ability to deliver synthetics-centric solutions under tight deadlines.
* Strong skills in capturing complex designs and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
* Good systems thinking and problem-solving skills for complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
* Self-motivated with decision-making skills in uncertain environments.
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities and stakeholder needs.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Eligibility for SC or higher UK security clearance.
* Degree or equivalent in Systems, Software, Mathematics, or related STEM fields.
* Knowledge of future trends in synthetics technologies and UK MOD policies.
* Experience with Agile methodologies and requirements definition.
