Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday + on-call rota (min. 3 evenings/week)

Hosting Homes Ltd (trading as Hosting Holidays) is a fast-growing hospitality and short‑term rental management company based in Henley‑on‑Thames. We manage a portfolio of high‑quality homes, apartments, boutique hotels, and boats—and we’re scaling quickly.
We’re now hiring an Operations Director to take full ownership of day‑to‑day operations so the Founder can focus on strategy, sales, and expansion. This is a senior, hands‑on operational role suited to someone who thrives in hospitality, can lead a team with confidence, and is comfortable in a fast‑paced, multi‑property environment.
The Role
As Operations Director, you will be responsible for:
Operational Leadership
* Overseeing the daily running of a 7‑day hospitality operation
* Maintaining consistent service standards and smooth workflows
* Improving and enforcing operational systems, SOPs, and processes
* Ensuring properties are ready, compliant, and guest‑ready at all times
Team Management
* Leading and developing the operations & guest services team
* Setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and driving accountability
* Recruiting, onboarding, and training future team members
Guest Experience & Escalations
* Managing escalations on a shared out‑of‑hours rota (light‑touch)
* Supporting guest communications when needed
* Ensuring SLA adherence and strong review scores
Compliance & Listings
* Ensuring all properties meet safety and legal requirements (FRA, EICR, CO₂, gas safety, keys, access, manuals, photos)
* Overseeing onboarding quality, set‑up, and presentation standards
* Supporting hotel partners where applicable
* Tracking cleaning, linen, consumables, and contractor costs
* Producing operational cost reports each month
* Identifying efficiency improvements and driving profitability
* Visiting properties, hotels, and suppliers when required
* Attending maintenance checks, staging, onboarding, and inspections
* Representing the business externally where operational presence is needed
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
* 3–5+ years in hospitality operations (hotels, serviced accommodation, STR agency)
* Experience managing teams and operational departments
* Strong understanding of compliance, guest experience, and property operations
* Proven record in improving systems or operational workflows
You Must Have
* A full UK driving licence and your own car (essential)
* Be based within 45 minutes of Henley
* Hands‑on, proactive, solutions‑driven mindset
* Comfortable supporting a 7‑day model (not working weekends, but available for escalations)
* Calm, structured, and able to lead with authority
Red Flags (we will not consider)
* No hospitality experience
* Clock‑in/clock‑out mentality
* Not comfortable with on‑call duties
* Avoidant of responsibility or pressure
