You and Your Team
As a Lead Analyst, Portfolio Analytics, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our business strategy by delivering comprehensive portfolio monitoring and actionable insights for our Cards portfolio, while also providing occasional analytical support for Vehicle Finance and 2nd Charge Mortgages. You’ll lead the development and optimisation of Management Information reporting suites, analyse customer behaviours, and use advanced analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Your insights will directly influence credit strategy, risk appetite, and operational decisions and ensuring we balance risk and reward effectively while keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Working closely with the Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting Manager, Credit Risk Strategy Managers, and colleagues across risk, finance, and product, you’ll be part of a supportive environment where your analytical skills and curiosity are valued. What You Will Be Doing
* Perform in depth reviews of customer performance, providing valuable insight and giving recommendations for credit strategy updates.
* Analyse portfolio data and variances to forecasts and lead on discussions and challenges that help inform the development of policy, scorecards, and strategies.
* Lead data-driven proposals to define appropriate Risk Appetite Metrics, taking measured credit risk in pursuit of strategic objectives and monitoring exposures on an ongoing basis ensuring appropriate thresholds are set.
* Build a robust reporting framework to support the Credit Risk forecasting models for the credit cards portfolios and to predict trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Investigation and development of new data sources to be used for analysis working with stakeholders across project and transformational change programs.
* Use statistical models and advanced data analytics techniques to provide actionable insights into portfolio performance, risk exposure, and credit quality.
* Regularly track and assess portfolio performance, using forecasting data to inform operational strategies and explain deviations from forecasts where necessary.
* Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and external regulatory frameworks and ensure that the principles of responsible lending are upheld in line with the Group’s Responsible Lending Policy.
What Will Make You Stand Out
* 3+ years’ experience in data analytics, cards portfolio analysis, or a related field within the consumer credit industry.
* Strong background in Consumer Lending performance monitoring, with knowledge of IFRS9 impairments is highly beneficial.
* SQL is essential for this role, and experience with other analytics tools such as Snowflake, Power BI, and Python would be highly beneficial.
* Proven ability to succeed in an analytical team, prioritizing tasks and delivering strategic guidance.
* Skilled at turning complex data into clear business insights and communicating results to non-technical audiences.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy in performance monitoring and delivering insight.
