Please specify your contract preference on your application. About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen within Caring for Thurrock Provider Services. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to assist with providing transport to vulnerable adults within Thurrock to and from the Day Centre in Grays. The candidate will use a Council minibus to pick up and take service users to/from their own homes. We have several routes around Thurrock and this usually means delivering an average of 2 or 3 routes in the afternoon. You will need a full clean Driving Licence and this will need to have evidence that driving on D1 category vehicles is approved. Business insurance is provided when using council vehicles. A driving competence test is required for insurance purposes before starting the role. The successful candidate will be flexible and able to work as part of a team and also to be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and use their own initiative within established procedures and processes to deliver a high quality service to our Clients with a person centred approach in line with the Care Act and Current Legislation within Adult Social Care. You will be required to attend mandatory training in areas that are relevant to the role. Shadowing will also be provided. You will encourage, motivate, and support Clients while ensuring their safety and welfare in their homes when providing them with their meals. Daily vehicle checks and mileage logs to be completed.
