Engineering Lecturer – Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering

£37,495-45,462 per annum
A well‑established and highly regarded further education college in Gloucestershire is looking to appoint an Engineering Lecturer to deliver engaging and industry‑relevant teaching across Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering subjects from Level 2 through to Level 6. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward‑thinking engineering department that works closely with employers and apprentices, helping shape the next generation of engineering professionals. Teaching will span both full‑time learners and apprenticeships across a variety of engineering pathways. The college delivers qualifications through awarding bodies including Pearson, City & Guilds, and EAL, offering a varied and rewarding teaching environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering units across Levels 2–6
* Teach across a range of engineering disciplines in both workshop and classroom settings
* Support both full‑time learners and apprentices
* Develop engaging lesson plans and learning materials
* Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
* Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and industry partners
* Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
Who we are looking for
Minimum requirements:
* Minimum HND qualification in Engineering
* GCSE Maths and English
* Relevant industry experience within engineering
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Passion for developing future engineering talent
It would also be helpful to have:
* Previous teaching experience with apprentices and full‑time students
* Assessor Award
* PGCE, DTLLS, Certificate in Education or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
