A London market insurer is looking to hire an Underwriting Manager to join its underwriting management function on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will support the oversight and performance of the underwriting portfolio while helping strengthen governance, reporting and analytical capability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support a small team of analysts within the underwriting management function
* Oversee the production of internal management information and regulatory reporting
* Ensure underwriting policies, procedures and controls remain effective and compliant with evolving regulation
* Manage the year-end audit process, working closely with internal teams and external auditors
* Drive continuous improvement of underwriting processes, reporting and data analysis
* Contribute to broader projects aimed at enhancing underwriting performance and portfolio insights
About You
* 5+ years’ experience in the Lloyd’s or London insurance market
* Previous team leadership or management experience
* Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills
* Experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools (SQL familiarity beneficial)
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
