Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Lead Nurse.

Bluebell is a -bedded, purpose-built assessment and treatment unit for older people (over ) experiencing a variety of acute mental health difficulties.

Bluebell is a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team. We put the patients first and deliver a high standard of care. Offering en-suite rooms for promotion of dignity, safety and therapeutic spaces.

Bluebell encourages therapeutic interventions and delivers care to national recommendations.

We put a high emphasis on quality of care, peer support and on clinical engagement in service development and management. We will welcome candidates who bring an enthusiasm for innovation, teaching and development and can work closely with colleagues from different professional backgrounds.

Main duties of the job

You will:

1. Provide strong clinical leadership, ensuring evidence-based practice is delivered to improve the quality of and shape responsive services.
2. Monitoring and ensure maintenance of standards of care that support safe high quality practice throughout the twenty-four hour period.
3. Supporting junior colleagues within the multi-disciplinary process.
4. Supervising and promoting staff development.

Person specification

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria

26. NMC Registered Nurse - RNMH or RNLD
27. Educated to Diploma Level (ie Dip HE Nursing) or evidence of post qualification education/training
28. Mentorship

Desirable criteria

29. Previous, recent, relevant experience

Leadership Skills

Essential criteria

30. Demonstrate leadership skills such as motivation, facilitation, mentorship, etc. Demonstrate up-to-date evidence-based
31. Experience in managing and leading a team in difficult clinical situations

Desirable criteria

32. Evidence of being able to work independently
33. Experience of leading development of staff's progression and development
