We are seeking qualified professionals committed to providing high-quality care and counselling for depression within the Step 3 service. The role involves delivering counselling for depression using a stepped care model aligned with the national IAPT programme and NICE guidance. Responsibilities include conducting one-to-one counselling, assessments, and therapeutic groups.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to Continuing Professional Development and be willing to attend the Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CFD) IAPT training at Metanoia. A desirable commitment to Mind Matters of 1.5 years post-training is expected.
Developmental Plan:
1. Start at band 6
2. Complete PCE-CfD training within 24 months
3. Successful completion of training leads to band 7

Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive assessment and therapeutic services for adults with common mental health issues referred to the IAPT SABP service, based on evidence-based psychological principles and primary care context.
Assess clients for suitability for counselling and other modalities, and deliver evidence-based psychological treatments (NICE guidelines for depression). Manage common mental health problems, including mood and adjustment disorders.
Decide on referral suitability, adhering to protocols, and refer or redirect clients as appropriate. Assess patient and public risk and act accordingly.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 4 or above BACP Accredited Counselling Qualification
* Full BACP Accreditation or UKCP Registration
* Alternatively, NCS Fully Accredited or ACC Full Accreditation
Experience
* Minimum 450 client hours with documented clinical supervision
* Experience working in an IAPT setting with target-driven contacts and outcomes
* Experience working with diverse, multicultural communities
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This position requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, to screen for previous convictions.
Salary: £39,205 to £54,931 per year, including 5% Fringe HCAS, pro-rata.
