Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our highly regarded Construction Midlands division, working on mid to large-scale commercial construction projects in Birmingham and the surrounding region.
As the successful candidate, you will take ownership of commercial delivery across various projects from feasibility to completion. You will need strong contractual knowledge to provide commercial control of work packages throughout the project lifecycle whilst reporting accurately.

Key Responsibilities
Provide commercial expertise to help plan the successful delivery of the project, ensuring the project is procured and delivered within budget.
Where appropriate, take the lead and support the preconstruction team undertaking the estimating function and have a thorough understanding of the estimating contract, planning, design management, bill of quantities, services, HS&E, sustainability and social value commitments, bid management, adjudication requirements and supporting the team with bid submissions.
Build long-term, trusted relationships with supply chain partners, holding them to account and driving them to continuously improve and innovate.
Monitor and manage the costs throughout the project delivery stage and throughout the defect's liability period.
Use technical knowledge and understanding of key trade packages including the ability to complete accurate measurement to the relevant SMM7/NRM2.
Review procurement and maximise use of Cat A supply chain partners whilst taking responsibility for commercial risk management and achieving the procurement schedule dates.
Lead on CVC reporting, ensuring accurate real time reporting and final profit projection (Robust Cost to Complete)
Proactively ensure that works are procured according to the design specifications.Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential Criteria
Self-sufficient in managing projects from preconstruction through to delivery
Ability to control costs, prevent scope creep, and manage risk across all packages
Strong understanding of contractual requirements and compliance.
Experience with client invoicing, contract cost reporting, procurement, and supply chain management.
Strong reporting skills, including Cost/Value reporting, cost-to-complete analysis and external financial forecasting.
Experience with NEC and JCT contracts.
Proficiency in MS Excel and Bluebeam (or similar measurement tools)
Proven procurement and subcontractor management experience.
History of being confident and comfortable in a customer-facing surveying role.
Previous team leadership experience.Desirable Criteria
Degree in Construction or a related field.
