We are looking for a Robolab Technician to operate and maintain our Robolab and associated laboratory equipment. This role supports cement production by ensuring accurate analysis, reliable equipment operation, and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will help maintain laboratory performance, interpret analytical results, and work with other departments to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production. Location- Buxton, SK17 9QF Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain the Robolab and associated laboratory equipment. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and basic repairs of laboratory instruments. Follow preventative maintenance schedules and manage spare parts and consumables. Record and report analytical results accurately using company systems. Monitor results and highlight any potential quality or production issues. Diagnose and resolve equipment faults using technical knowledge and supplier guidance. Work closely with production, quality, and environmental teams to resolve issues. Maintain laboratory records to support quality and compliance standards. Ensure the laboratory remains clean, organised, and safe. Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures. Report and investigate safety incidents and near misses. Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to company safety rules. Skills and Knowledge Good understanding of health and safety practices. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability. Analytical thinking and good attention to detail. Ability to organise work and manage priorities. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Qualifications and Experience Essential Qualification in a light mechanical trade (e.g., auto mechanic) or similar technical background. Experience working with small mechanical devices such as actuators, stepper drives, or pneumatic cylinders. Ability to read and understand pneumatic or control diagrams. Desirable Experience working with automated or robotic systems. Experience with pneumatic solenoid-operated machinery.
