Purpose and key responsibilities
* Lead financial business partnering for a designated business directorate, acting as the primary finance contact for senior stakeholders.
* Provide strategic financial advice to support policy development, regulatory decisions, and operational delivery.
* Be accountable for production of financial forecasts, budgets, and business plans aligned with Ofgems strategic objectives.
* Deliver high-quality financial analysis and commentary to inform executive-level decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with Managing Public Money principles.
* Contribute to the preparation and review of Accounting Officer assessments, ensuring financial implications are clearly articulated and risks are appropriately managed.
Key Outputs and Deliverables
* Lead in the development of annual and multi-year business plans, ensuring alignment between financial resources and business priorities, ensuring plans are robust, realistic, and deliverable within budget constraints.
* Produce accurate, timely and insightful monthly financial forecasts that align with delivery plans.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that plans are supported by accurate assumptions and comply with organisational policies.
* Provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders, including Directors, DGs and wider Senior Management teams.
* Delivering insightful analysis on financial performance, risks & opportunities.

Essential Criteria:
* You will be CCAB (or equivalent chartered accountancy qualification) fully qualified. (LEAD CRITERIA)
* Proven experience in senior finance business partnering role. (LEAD CRITERIA)
* Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with experience collaborating with senior leaders.
Desirable Criteria:
* Understanding of managing public money and public sector financial governance.
