Grant Macdonald is a renowned high-end silversmithing manufacturer with over 50 years of history and a Royal Warrant to The King. As market leaders in our specialised field, we work with an international clientele and produce a diverse range of exceptional and fascinating pieces in silver and gold. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding workshop team at our central London studio.
We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled plater, polisher, finisher to join our team and play an important role in the finishing of our luxury handcrafted pieces. The successful candidate will be a hardworking and highly skilled plater and polisher who can support our existing polishing team while also running our plating and lacquering/finishing department. You will work on a wide variety of pieces, from small gold items through to large silver works created for prestigious international clients.
A strong knowledge of plating, polishing, and lacquering is essential. You should be confident working both independently and collaboratively with our experienced workshop team. This is a newly created role within the company and offers the exciting opportunity to help establish and develop a dedicated plating and lacquering department as part of our continued growth.
About the role
1. Full-time position, 5 days per week (traditional workshop hours)
2. Early start and early finish possible (negotiable)
3. Central London location, between Waterloo and London Bridge stations
4. Work as part of a small, highly skilled, and growing team producing exceptional pieces in silver and gold
Requirements
5. Ideally 5+ years experience plating, polishing, and lacquering/finishing within a silversmithing or precious metal workshop
6. Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining an exceptionally high standard of craftsmanship
7. Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and excellent time management
8. A proactive, positive can-do attitude
9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
