Job Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity primarily for a DBA to join our growing business systems team whilst getting involved in system design and support for our MES/ERP systems. The role would see you owning the multiple application databases ensuring that the maintenance, performance, integrity, and security are of a high standard and actively improving in these areas. Additionally, you will be involved in providing 2nd Line Support for MES/ERP Business system applications/integrations and the opportunity to get involved in projects related to improvement and change of our key business systems whilst following a change control process.
What It Takes
This role is tailor-made for a proactive, experienced database analyst who thrives on both technical ownership and cross-functional collaboration. You’re not just maintaining systems—you’re continuously improving them.
You're likely to be someone who holds a third-level qualification in IT or a related discipline and brings at least 3 years of hands-on DBA experience, with deep knowledge of SQL, including data backup, recovery, security, replication, and integrity. You will know how to optimise database performance using SQL tools and have a solid, algorithmic approach to problem-solving. You can juggle multiple priorities across a large organisation and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels. You will be confident working independently, especially when managing change requests and deployment activities during critical maintenance windows; and perform well under pressure, staying calm and solution-focused even in high-stakes situations.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact, lead on critical database operations, and get involved in transformational system projects, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with core hours being 10am to 4pm. Hybrid working can be discussed at interview stage.
Benefits
Working within one of our state of the art premises you will enjoy a range of benefits including subsidised meals, free breakfast and lunch options, free onsite car parking and electric charging points. You will be entitled to free products weekly (Up to 5 free products per person) through our award winning “Shack Initiative.” We have a packed calendar of wellbeing, social and sport events. After you have settled into the Finnebrogue family your perks will increase to include a Healthcare plan, cycle to work scheme, new electric car scheme, and a birthday holiday. Our list of benefits continues to grow and we have been awarded Employer of the Year by Irish News and Grocer Gold as testimony to our culture and benefits.
