Hourly Rate: £30 - £60 per hour

Smart Teachers is seeking a dedicated and skilled English Tutor to deliver high-quality on-site tuition at a large, high-performing secondary academy in East London. This role is ideal for qualified teachers looking to support targeted intervention, small-group tuition, and catch-up English provision from January.
The Role
* Delivering small-group and 1:1 English tuition sessions across KS3 KS4
* Focusing on literacy development, GCSE preparation, and curriculum reinforcement
* Working on school premises during the school day (no remote tutoring)
* Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive sessions to boost pupil progress
* Liaising with teaching staff and support teams to ensure continuity and consistency

This academy is a well-resourced East London secondary known for its strong behaviour culture and supportive leadership team. Tuition takes place in dedicated intervention spaces, with excellent support from the English department.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) applications from non-qualified tutors cannot be considered
* Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
* Experience delivering targeted intervention or small-group teaching
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* A professional, proactive approach to supporting pupil achievement
