An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to work within the kitchen at Arbroath Infirmary. We are looking for a team member to join our department. You will be responsible for delivering the highest standard of Catering Service within the hospital to patients, staff and visitors whilst maintaining a clean, safe working environment. This post includes cleaning equipment which is a physically demanding job as well as basic food preparation. Previous work in a catering environment is preferable, but training will be provided.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills. You must also be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and able to cope under pressure. You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the highest standard of Catering Service within the hospital to patients, staff and visitors while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
* Assist with basic food preparation and cleaning of equipment.
* Work as part of a team or on your own initiative as required and follow instructions.
Qualifications and requirements
* Ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative with good communication skills.
* Able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure.
* Must achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and comply with the Code of Conduct.
Working hours and compensation
* Working hours: 19 hours per week, to be discussed at interview; shift times vary between 7am and 6:30pm. Enhancements are paid for weekend work.
* Salary scale is pro rata for part-time hours.
