We are seeking an organised, proactive, and patient-focused ReceptionLead to join our busy GP practice. This role is ideal for someone withstrong leadership skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcareenvironment and is passionate about delivering excellent patient service.

As Reception Lead, you will oversee the day-to-dayoperations of the reception team, ensuring that patients receive aprofessional, efficient, and compassionate service while supporting the widerclinical and administrative teams.


Main duties of the job

* Lead, support, and supervise the reception team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Assist with staff rotas, cover arrangements, and workflow across the reception desk.
* Ensure patients are greeted and assisted in a professional, courteous, and confidential manner.
* Oversee appointment bookings, patient registrations, and general enquiries.
* Support the Management Team with training, performance monitoring, and development of reception staff.
* Handle escalated patient queries or minor grieviances in a calm and professional manner.
* Ensure reception processes comply with practice policies, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
* Identify opportunities to improve reception systems and patient experience.


About us

Stone Cross Doctors Surgery provides services to a population of over 14,700 patients and our team is committed to providing outstanding patient care.

Our team consists of 6 GP partners, 2 salaried GP's, 1 APPs, 3 Paramedic Practitoners, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurse's, 2 HCA,'s 1 Phlebotomist and numerous receptionists and a team of additional role staff via our PCN.


Job responsibilities

Lead, support, and supervise the reception team in their daily duties.

Ensure patients are welcomed and assisted in a professional and courteous manner.

Oversee appointment bookings and patient enquiries (face-to-face, telephone, and online).

Assist with staff rotas, training, development and performance guidance.

Manage and resolve minor patient queries or concerns.

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with NHS policies and practice procedures.

Maintain high standards within the reception area and promote excellent customer service.

Support the Management Team with reception operations and administrative tasks.
