Main duties of the job
Take part in the consultant on-call rota within the Mental Health Directorate.
Undertake responsibilities under the Mental Health Act as a S.12 approved doctor and as an Approved Clinician.
Undertake responsibilities under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Current GMC registration
* MRC Psych or equivalent
* Approved Clinician Approval
* Section 12 (2) approval
* Welsh approved Clinician Approval
Knowledge and Experience
* Comprehensive training and experience in psychiatry
* Higher training experience in psychiatry.
* oExperience of acting as s12(2) doctor or Responsible Clinician
Audit and Research
* Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
* Evidence of having undertaken audit relevant to speciality
* Proven capability to initiate and undertake original work.
* Evidence of service wide audit with significant and lasting impact on practice
* Evidence of original and relevant research in speciality.
Management
* Management and Administration Experience
* Experience of Appraising Staff
* Evidence of Service Development
Teaching
* Evidence of having delivered postgraduate teaching
* Evidence of Teaching Medical Students
Personal Attributes
* proven commitment to team approach and Multi Disciplinary Working
* Capacity to work under pressure and respond flexibly to varying demands
