We are currently working on behalf of a well known client, they area well‑established and highly regarded engineering consultancy, who are looking to appoint a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their Edinburgh office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or recent graduate to begin their structural engineering career within a supportive consultancy environment, working on a diverse portfolio of high‑quality projects.
The opportunity
The successful candidate will join an experienced structural team and will be involved in the design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors. You will gain hands‑on experience from an early stage, supported by senior engineers and structured training.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the structural design and analysis of building projects
* Preparing calculations, drawings and technical documentation
* Supporting senior engineers through concept, detailed design and construction stages
* Working collaboratively with architects and other design disciplines
* Attending site visits and project meetings where required
Requirements
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
* A degree (BEng or MEng) in Structural or Civil Engineering
* A strong interest in building structures and structural design
* Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and masonry design principles
* Familiarity with structural analysis software (or a willingness to learn)
* Good communication skills and a proactive, team‑oriented mindset
A desire to work towards professional chartership with IStructE or ICE is essential.
